Overview
Groups provide centralized billing and administration for a group of users and the organizations and projects they work with. A group can manage seat memberships, shared AI usage, on-demand spending budgets, billing, and linked organizations from one place. Groups are broader than organizations. Organizations own projects, while groups manage people, billing, usage pools, and governance across multiple users and organizations.Groups vs. Organization Teams: Groups manage group-wide billing, seats, spending limits, and linked organizations. Within an Organization, Teams refer to project-management boards, sprints, and task cards.
What Groups Manage
Depending on deployment and permissions, a group can manage:- Group members, seat types (Full and Read-only), and email invitations.
- Member roles and administrative permissions.
- Included AI usage and per-member on-demand spending limits.
- Group subscription billing, credit balances, and unified invoices.
- Organizations created in or linked to the group, including organization storage tiers.
- Activity and usage breakdowns across group members.
Group Management
Open Group from your avatar menu or the Browser navigation menu (at/team). Members see tabs based on their permissions:
- Overview — group summary, member and organization counts, next usage reset, on-demand usage gauge, and spend by member.
- Members — member roster, seat types, included usage, per-member on-demand limits, and pending invitations.
- Organizations — organizations associated with the group, their storage usage and storage tiers, and controls to create or link organizations.
- Activity — AI and tool usage breakdown across the group over time.
- Wallet & Limits — group Included Usage pool, Credit Balance, On-Demand limit, and default per-member spending limit (visible to billing and admin roles).
- Plan & Invoices — group subscription plan, Stripe billing portal access, and invoice history (visible to billing and admin roles).

Group Roles And Seats
Roles
Group roles determine who can manage members, organizations, billing, settings, and support workflows:- Owner — full control over the group, including billing, members, organizations, and disbanding the group.
- Admin — manage members, invitations, roles, organizations, and group settings.
- Billing — view and manage group billing, wallet limits, per-member spending limits, and invoices.
- Support — support-level visibility across group resources where enabled.
- Member — view group summary, members, organizations, and activity, and use group-funded AI usage according to seat type and spending limits.
Seat Types
- Full seats — billed per seat on the group subscription; each full seat includes AI usage each period plus access to group on-demand usage within the member’s spending limit.
- Read-only seats — group plans include read-only seats at no extra cost for members who do not consume paid AI usage.
Joining A Group
When you are invited to a group, you receive an in-app notification and email invitation. Clicking Accept opens the Join Group confirmation dialog explaining what changes:- Managed Plan — your personal subscription is converted to a Group subscription managed by the group administrator.
- Group Credits — your Included Usage resets to the group allocation, while your personal Credit Balance stays with you.
- On-Demand Usage — overage billing is handled by the group, and your individual spending limit is set by the group administrator.
- Access & Permissions — you gain access to group resources while your personal projects and data remain yours.
- Owned Organizations — any organizations you own are associated with the group (organizations already linked to another group stay where they are).
- Leave Anytime — you can leave the group at any time from your account settings.
Groups And Organizations
Groups can create new organizations or link existing organizations by handle (once accepted by the organization admin). Organization-owned projects remain owned by the organization, while the group manages the organization’s billing relationship and storage tiers. See Organizations for organization-owned project management.Leaving Or Disbanding A Group
- Leaving a Group: Members who are not the group creator can leave the group from their personal billing settings (Leave Group). Leaving a group removes access to group billing and reverts your account to the Free plan.
- Disbanding a Group: Group owners and billing administrators can permanently dissolve a group from Group → Settings (Disband Group) or from their personal billing settings. Disbanding cancels the group subscription with proration, deletes organizations billed through the group, and reverts all members to free-tier accounts.
