Version 5.2.0 - Simulation, Engineering Workflows & Collaboration

Version 5.2 expands Davinci’s engineering analysis capabilities while making CAD workflows, project collaboration, and automation more reliable.

Simulation & Engineering Analysis

  • Expanded simulation support across structural, dynamic, transient, thermal, fluid, fatigue, contact, acoustics, radiation, and environmental analysis
  • Added improved mesh quality and accuracy with second-order tetrahedral elements, adaptive meshing, and mesh-convergence reporting
  • Added expanded optics and STOP analysis, including telescope models, ray tracing, coronagraphs, deformable mirrors, stray light, wavefronts, PSF, and MTF results
  • Added clearer simulation setup, compilation, verification, and result reporting
  • Added interactive explorer panels for inspecting simulation results and comparing outputs across design studies

CAD, Assemblies & Motion

  • Improved assembly solving, mates, imported-part interfaces, collision checks, and assembly diagnostics
  • STEP imports now preserve detected geometric features to support more reliable assembly workflows
  • Added motion-study stages, tracked mechanisms, closed-path motion, pose playback, and stored motion artifacts
  • Improved joint control, motion-study validation, compile error reporting, and CAD authoring feedback

Agent & Automation

  • Code objects can now access compiled studies through the simulation API to describe, query, and sample results
  • Added a Python simulation interface for runtime analysis workflows
  • Improved agent support for simulation authoring, imported geometry, project context, and persistent artifacts
  • Added clearer validation messages, simulation staleness information, and recovery guidance

Teams, Task Cards & Project Management

  • Added required fields and configurable mover-assignment actions for task-card status transitions
  • Improved kanban filters, sprint handling, close-on-move behavior, card refreshes, and team board layouts
  • Added project memory capabilities and more reliable project storage accounting
  • Updated the public API and Python and TypeScript SDKs for the latest team and task-card workflows

Workspace & Documents

  • Improved simulation, assembly, and motion-study views in the workspace
  • Improved document tables, slides, PDF forms, signatures, exports, and collaborative editing
  • Added a faster search path for large projects to reduce client-side lag
  • Added numerous reliability fixes across workspace panels, previews, and rendered results
